November 13, 2014 07:06 AM

HIGHLIGHTS

·        Market Trend:   Corn, 2-3 Higher; Soybeans, November down 2, deferreds 2-4 Higher; Wheat, 1-3 Lower.

·        A mostly higher trend is being seen in global markets so far today.  In Asia, Japan’s Nikkei 225 increased 1.1% while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 0.3%.  China’s Shanghai Composite Index declined 0.4% but Europe is firmer, +0.64% (DAX) and +0.23% (FTSE).  After 5 record highs, U.S. socks pulled back slightly on Wednesday, although early indicators are pointing toward a higher opening for Thursday:  DOW futures, +38; S&P, +6; NAS, +14.  Outside markets:  gold, +$2.00; energy futures, lower; $ Index, down .131

·        T-storm Weather: Scattered thunderstorms increase soil moisture for corn & soybeans across much of Center-West & Southeast Brazil through Friday.  A period of drying for Center-West & Southeast lasts for 3-5 days in Goias & Mato Grosso, but humidity levels increase as next week progresses, thereby aiding thunderstorm formation & maintaining or improving soil moisture.  Mainly dry weather occurs to the immediate south, & some heat unfolds in Argentina from this weekend forward.  The lack of rain lasts for 7-10 days, but is not problematic for most, as it will allow topsoil moisture to diminish and for planting to resume
